What is kite surfing?
Kiteboarding is a surface water sport that combines many aspects of other surface water sports, like wakeboarding, surfing, windsurfing, paragliding, and gymnastics. The rider uses a large controllable power kite to harness the power of the wind and propel themselves across the water on their kiteboard. This board is similar to a wakeboard, and can come with or without footstraps or bindings.
Kitesurfing is term applied to a specific style of kiteboarding that involves wave riding, much like regular surfing. Rather than using a smaller board, many kitesurfers use standard surfboards or specially shaped boards made specifically for kitesurfing.
Along with kitesurfing, there are many different styles of kiteboarding including:

Is kite surfing difficult?
Surprisingly, no. We estimate that after 5 or so lessons you will have the basic skills down. With a few more lessons you can begin to master the techniques involved. Using a trainer kite will also accelerate your learning. Those who have experience windsurfing will also have an easier time transitioning to kitesurfing than someone who is just beginning. With established knowledge of balancing on a board and controlling a sail, you already have very helpful skills when learning to kitesurf.
Can anyone kite surf?
Most any can kitesurf! Those who are reasonably fit and have the persistence to learn can master the sport. When it comes to kitesurfing, technique far outweighs the need for strength and athleticism. Kitesurfing is a sport that both men and women or all different builds enjoy.
Though it is not a requirement, it does help to be fit when learning to kitesurf. Kitesurfing will burn approximately 900 calories per hour during an average session, so being fit will help with your stamina and not being so sore afterwards.
When is the best time to kite surf?
The best time of the year for kitesurfing is November through July. From November to February, the wind blows more N or Nest, while from March to July the wind blows more E and SE. While November, June and July can have a few days without wind, the average wind season offers at least 5 “kiteable” days a week, with winds blowing between 12 to 25 knots.
